Ralph Hellmich is committed to serving the citizens of Foley with accessibility and a results-driven approach. As Mayor, he prioritizes community needs through four core pillars: Infrastructure, Public Safety, Education, and Quality of Life. Under his leadership, Foley has seen significant improvements, including upgraded intersections and enhanced pedestrian safety. Recognized for its safety, Foley has invested in modern fire equipment and police technology, promoting careers in public safety and ensuring a thriving community.
Ralph has formed strong partnerships with the Baldwin County Board of Education, resulting in increased funding for local schools and higher ACT scores. Foley is also enhancing its quality of life by expanding parks and constructing a $20 million library and community center, with future plans for a civic center and World War II heritage museum. His dedication to preserving Foley’s unique charm while strategically planning for its future ensures that leadership is responsive and effective for all residents.
With over 16 years on the Foley City Council and extensive involvement in various boards, Ralph's leadership experience is vast. He is a Certified Municipal Official and has contributed significantly to the Foley Planning Commission and the Riviera Utilities Board. A lifelong resident of Foley, Ralph graduated from Foley High School and the University of Alabama. He is dedicated to his community, actively participating in numerous organizations alongside his wife, Jo McGill Hellmich, and their three children and grandchild.
